At the beginning of 2017 when IDPs were beginning to return home to rebuild their communities, the lack of adequate sources of clean water was noted to be a huge problem. We therefore launched an appeal to raise funds to build 100 boreholes. Thanks to your donations we were able to reach our target by October 2017, and by December 2017 the 100th borehole was built, cast and commissioned in Maiduguri. The boreholes are located in 12 areas in Borno State; namely, Bama, Banki, Baga, Damboa, Konduga, Monguno, Mobbar, Gamboru Ngala, Mafa, Jere, Kareto and Maiduguri Metropolitan.
Each borehole provides clean water for at least 1000 people. The boreholes are vital to crucial in bringing much needed water supply to areas with severe water shortage.
